Go Badgers!

Well today is the last day of the Big Ten regular season. Wisconsin will finish second behind Ohio State regardless of what happens today. The Badgers are taking on Michigan State for the second time in three games at the Kohl Center today. Despite the fact that the standings are set, this is still a very important game for the Badgers. At this point they are playing for a possible No. 1 or 2 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament. With the way Florida and North Carolina have played down the stretch, if the Badgers can win today and make a good run in the Big Ten tournament, they have a legitimate shot for a No. 1 seed.

So far, the Badgers (18-1) have been able to take care of business in the Big Ten, but it hasn't necessarily been pretty. Last Saturday they pulled out a six-point win at Northwestern (10-7), and trailed for much of the second half. Then on Wednesday, they pulled off a five-point win over a more formidable opponent in Purdue (13-6). What does this all mean? Well, in years past, the Badgers would have likely lost the game at Northwestern, with this being the first win in last three games for the Badgers at Welsh-Ryan Arena. This win especially showed even though they aren't winning easily, they are winning, and more importantly playing as a unit.

Today, the Badgers travel to Illinois (14-6), in hopes of continuing the nations longest win streak. Champaign is a tough place to play, but this is a Badger team that has what it takes to win on the road. Wednesday, the Badgers host Michigan (15-4) at the Kohl Center. Michigan's is a good long range shooting team, one of the few weaknesses this Badger team has. But playing at home does give them the advantage. Hopefully by next week, they will be (20-1), Go Badgers!
