Resident Evil 4 Coming to the Wii

Gamestop.com reports that Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 will be released on the Nintendo Wii this summer. I have yet to play anything for the Wii or even hold the controller, but this is an interesting move especially since you can already play the Gamecube version of the game on your Wii. Aside from the fact that you will be able to use a new control scheme, wouldn't a totally new Resident Evil game have a better chance for success? Don't get me wrong, RE 4 is a great game, but it has been around since 2005, and it has also been released for the Playstation 2 and is slated for the PC (which remains to be seen if it will ever materialize). I guess the real question is how much are gamers willing to pay for this version? If they are planning on selling it for $49.99 like most Wii games, I would have to think it would be hard to rationalize the purchase, unless you haven't played. Even if they decided to sell if for $29.99 or $19.99 you aren't getting that much new.

How to get your music off your iPod!

I have to admit I'm not sure what I would do without Engadget. Even though this is an older post on how to get your music off your iPod, I thought it could be of value to others who don't already know about this. This article includes a number of different methods for downloading the music OFF your iPod. For me this is useful because I have multiple computers at home and I don't have my music backed up anywhere but on my CD's. Instead of having to rip them numerous times for each computer, I can use my iPod to transfer them instead.

Arcade Fire

I listened to a concert on NPR's website today by a band called The Arcade Fire. They are new to me, but I really enjoyed listening to the show. I have to say that for anyone who is a general music fan, or is looking for something new to listen to you really need to check out NPR's concert series and All Songs Considered World Cafe sections. There is an amazing amount of good music on there and it is all free.

TV on DVD

I am very excited that Sopranos and Entourage are starting again this Sunday on HBO. These are two of my favorite shows and the unique thing about each of them is that I only started watching them in the past year. I'm not sure who originated the idea of selling TV shows on DVD, but I think it is one of the best decisions that has been made in the entertainment industry. TIVO and other DVR services are great, but if it weren't for TV shows being available on DVD, I would never have been able to enjoy either of these shows. I blogged before about the possibility of not paying for cable anymore and instead buying shows on iTunes, and renting them from Netflix. As I stated in that blog, watching sports would be one potential problem with that system, but another is the fact that HBO does not release any of its shows on iTunes.

Real Estate

My wife and I are looking to buy our first home. We have been looking at houses off and on for probably the past two years, and in that time I have noticed many changes in the online listings. First you have your typical realty site that lists numerous sites from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Then you have applications like Google Earth or even Microsoft's Live Local site where you can place a dot for each home you are interested in and help you keep track of things geographically. Finally, the newest and most interesting site is Zillow. This is more like a combination of everything above with some very cool features. My favorite is the Zestimates that they have for virtually every house. This is a great way to quickly get an idea of the price range of surrounding homes in areas you are considering buying, or even where you already live. Unfortunately they don't have coverage for the entire US yet, but if you live in a major market chances are you will be covered.

Scrubs

For anyone who has never watched an episode of Scrubs I would recommend checking it out at least once. It is in the middle of its sixth season now and I just started watching it myself. I'm not the kind of person that watches many shows, but a friend of mine told me that I should rent the first couple season from Netflix. I haven't totally taken his advice, but I have been watching the reruns on Comedy Central from time to time. For me it is one of few shows that makes me laugh every episode more than once, and not just a slight chuckle, a full bodied laugh. Check it out, you just might enjoy yourself!

The Decemberists

My brother recently introduced me to a band from Portland, OR called The Decemberists. I have been hooked on them ever since and can't get enough. I especially enjoy listening to their live stuff as Colin Meloy the lead singer is enjoyable both singing and in between songs. Npr.org has some really good concerts you can listen to for free.
