Real Estate

My wife and I are looking to buy our first home. We have been looking at houses off and on for probably the past two years, and in that time I have noticed many changes in the online listings. First you have your typical realty site that lists numerous sites from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Then you have applications like Google Earth or even Microsoft's Live Local site where you can place a dot for each home you are interested in and help you keep track of things geographically. Finally, the newest and most interesting site is Zillow. This is more like a combination of everything above with some very cool features. My favorite is the Zestimates that they have for virtually every house. This is a great way to quickly get an idea of the price range of surrounding homes in areas you are considering buying, or even where you already live. Unfortunately they don't have coverage for the entire US yet, but if you live in a major market chances are you will be covered.
