Is It Time To Cancel Cable?

This is something I have been considering for quite some time now. With all of the TV shows on DVD, and on iTunes, would it be cheaper to just cancel cable and pay for the few shows I watch through these services? Well according to Alan Graham over at ZDNet, you could save around $300 if you used this method. The one flaw I have with this is what about ESPN and live sports? Granted iTunes does carry highlights from every NFL game, but that is quite different than watching it live. ESPN 360 could be an alternative for some games, but most people have access to that service and the majority of games they show no one cares to watch anyway. I guess as it stands right now, if you are a sports fan, this isn't a good answer. But maybe an alternative service to cable and satellite is something ESPN and other cable sports channels should look into in the near future.
