Movie of the Week 004

This week in honor of the Oscar nominations, my movie of the week is The Departed. It has been nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screen Play, Best Achievement in Film Editing, and Best Director. Adapted from the movie Infernal Affairs, the plot involves two cops, one good (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is working undercover with the local mob boss (Jack Nicholson), and one bad (Matt Damon) who is inside the police force, but working for the mob boss. Running just about three hours, I never felt at any point that the plot was dragging out. With all of the plot twists and confusion created by the similar yet different situations that each of the main characters are in, this movie will keep you focused on the story throughout. Since this is still in the theaters, I recommend going to check it out at your local theater.
